On the occasion of free admission days, the Uffizi is testing an interactive service through the use of time-slots machines in order to reduce queues at the entrance, which will work through a specific app in the near future.
How to get into the Uffizi on free admission days:
To enter the Uffizi visitors shall be provided with specific vouchers issued by interactive kiosks located under the Loggia of the Uffizi, near Door 1.
Vouchers will indicate check-in times and shall be submitted at the entrance. Delays of 15 minutes maximum will be tolerated.
The issue of vouchers will continue as far as they will be available.
Note: One voucher for one person!
Vouchers are not "reservations" but a system to save one's place in line and, therefore, each person can receive just one voucher. It will not be possible to obtain more than one voucher and, as to groups, every person shall collect his own voucher.
NEW ALTERNATIVE WAY!
On Sunday, February 2, 2020, a further test starts with the aim of reducing the queues: get your digital voucher for free admission just with a SMS.
By connecting to the website https://gestioneingressi.uffizi.it the user is invited to provide a mobile phone number to which the system will send a verification code. Once that code has been copied on the website's form, the system will allow the user to specify the number of visitors and select the time slot of the day when they prefer entering among the ones still available. Once the procedure is over and the request has been sent through a simple click, you will receive an SMS with a confirmation code 5 minutes before the selected hour of admission. Then all you have to do is to show up at the Uffizi's entrance and show the staff the SMS with the code directly from your mobile phone.
On free admission days, it is not possible to make reservations and priority admissions are not valid (such as for card and pass holders), except for disabled visitors and people accompanying them by law, pregnant women and school groups included in the maximum number of school groups guaranteed per day (daily quota), as set by the Director.
