A Europe of United Gardens
Hosted by the Boboli Gardens, the ERHG celebrates its VI Annual Forum on May the 25th and 26th
The Forum will take place at the Uffizi Galleries under the topic "A Europe of United Gardens".
Under this topic, the ERHG wants to highlight the importance of the common aspects that are shared among historic gardens across boundaries and along time, together with the richness of their diversity. Two sides of the same coin that make this green heritage strong and unique.
The Forum opening will count with the presence of Mr. Eike Schmidt, Director of the Uffizi Galleries, Mr. Eugenio Giani, President of the Region of Tuscany, Mr. Carlo Francini, Head of Unesco Office of the Municipality of Florence, Mr. Lukasz Przybylak, Vice-president of the European Route of Historic Gardens, and with the welcome message of Mr. Stefano Dominioni, Executive Secretary, Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes -Directorate of Democratic Participation (DGII), Council of Europe, and Director of the European Institute of Cultural Routes.
Diversity of Relations between the European Historic Gardens
The General Conference will take place in the morning under the topic “Diversity of Relations between the European Historic Gardens” and with the participation of seven historic gardens’ managers and/or representatives of historic gardens related institutions as lecturers.
Historic Gardens United in Challenges: Water
In the afternoon, the panel “Historic Gardens United in Challenges: Water” will approach one of the most critical aspects of today’s historic gardens management, with the participation of nine historic gardens representatives.
The forum will be closed by Lukasz Przybylak, Vice-president of the European Route of Historic Gardens. This important encounter will not end until the day after, on May 26th, when a guided visit to the Boboli Gardens will be offered to all Annual Forum attendees.
On the occasion, the European Route of Historic Gardens will also celebrate its General Assembly on May 26th.
