Umbrellas in museums (Rules)
Clarifications concerning the introduction of umbrellas inside museum spaces
With regard to the possibility of bringing umbrellas into museum spaces, we confirm the contents of the Access Regulations (see Access Regulations valid for all museums and Access Regulations for the Vasari Corridor).
Before entering the museums, large umbrellas (as well as other objects such as backpacks, bags, suitcases of any size, trolleys, rucksacks) must be stored in the cloakroom. Storage is free. Before the entrance, visitors are subject to metal detector inspection.
Small umbrellas are permitted as long as they fit in a pocket or handbag.
In particular, with regard to the Vasari Corridor, given that the tour starts in the Gallery of Statues and Paintings (Uffizi) and ends in the Boboli Garden-Pitti Palace, visitors should keep about their person all essential personal items, as well as coats and other garments they may require on leaving the Pitti Palace.
