"Between Forest and Stars": Dante's encounters from the Divine Comedy to the Boboli Gardens
The full version of the video drawn from the itinerant show produced by the Uffizi Galleries on the 700th anniversary of Dante's death
On 6 September 2021, in the year of the celebrations of the 700th anniversary of Dante's death, the Uffizi Galleries produced a theatrical show (in collaboration with Archètipo Association of Bagno a Ripoli), staged in the Boboli Gardens and directed by Riccardo Massai.
The show made the spectator the protagonist who, as a new Dante of the 21st century, reenacted his journey and his encounters - some famous, some less known - with the souls of Hell, Purgatory and Paradise, who for the occasion had a praiseworthy setting: the Boboli Gardens, which provided an added value and unprecedented suggestions to the immortal verses of the Divine Comedy thanks to its complex and varied articulation of spaces fitting the most different ambiances.
The filming and video direction, together with editing and post-production, are by Federica Toci of "Il Gobbo e la Giraffa Videoproduzioni" of Florence.
