The white cotton tulle dress is decorated with embroidery in sil- ver thread, sequins and rhinestone. The pink silk satin lining has been reconstructed specifically for this display. Emilio Schuberth, a couturier working in Rome, has gone down in history as the Italian divas’ stylist. It is often said that Schuberth caused Roman fashion to bloom again, turning the city into a Par- is on the Tiber. He loved to be photographed with a self-satisfied smile in the midst of a large group of models or in the company of his favourite divas, Gina Lollobrigida (1927-2023) and Sophia Loren (b. 1934). He created one of his best-known collections, known as Rosa Imperiale, for the princess Soraya of Persia (1932-2001) in 1953.
