The Uffizi Galleries inaugurate the digital ticket era. As of 6 May 2024, admission tickets for the Uffizi, Pitti Palace and the Boboli Gardens purchased online at the official website (www.uffizi.it) or through the call center (055/294883), become a QR code that visitors receive via email and have to show the staff in charge of control directly from their smartphones. The new procedure - which does not cancel all bookings made so far through the old system - eliminates the queuing time for collecting paper tickets; simplifies the admission to the museums and also guarantees an appropriate saving in paper consumption.
“With this new system - says Director Simone Verde - the purpose is to reduce queues and make the admission into the museums easier and smoothlier, thus helping visitors to enhance the quality of their experience at the museum and making the Uffizi Courtyard tidy and beauty again".
